The Birth of a Startup within a Startup
In 2016, Infracommerce partnered with Unilever to create a B2B platform aimed at revolutionizing industry intermediation. I led the design team, addressing challenges like inefficient product replenishment and heavy reliance on RCAs. Our goal was to support small retailers by simplifying their operations. Initially, we aimed for a minimalistic platform, but user research led us to adopt a more traditional e-commerce design for better acceptance. As the platform grew, we faced resistance from RCAs and retailers alike, but over time, the project became a success, surpassing 100,000 users within months. Our team continually evolved the platform, implementing a design system and optimizing user journeys. Eventually, Compra Unilever transformed into Compra Agora, an independent startup serving multiple industries. By 2021, it was reaching over 30% of commercial establishments nationwide. With partners like BRF, Arcor, Diageo, and Kraft Heinz, it exceeded R$4 billion in revenue, becoming a major player in B2B commerce. The platform now serves 400,000 retailers and offers nearly 500 brands, with plans for further expansion.
